Thunderbolt - 2 Seater Gyroplane With Removable Fuel Tank

The Thunderbolt, which is the latest tandem seating gyroplane offered by VORAN, is an evolution of the GT and Blazer line. It has a contemporary design, a roomy canopy and configurable engine, instrumentation and finish. It offers comfort to the pilot and passenger. The Thunderbolt comes with customised accessories and engines; the customer can choose the colour and instrumentation. All the systems are designed for easy maintenance. The Thunderbolt represents a significant evolutionary leap over the Blazer, shifting its focus from a standard recreational tandem gyroplane toward a high-performance, long-distance cross-country tourer.
Core Improvements in the Thunderbolt
- Increased Structural Capacity (600 kg MTOW): The Thunderbolt features a reinforced chassis certified for a 600 kg Maximum Take-off Weight compared to 550 kgs for the Blazer, allowing for heavier payloads, more gear, and larger occupants without compromising safety margins.
- Advanced Aerodynamic Profiling: The Thunderbolt features a redesigned, highly streamlined cabin shell and tail section. This reduced drag profile yields a 20 km/h increase in cruising speed and raises the Never Exceed Speed to 185 km/h using the exact same Rotax 915 engine.
- Upgraded Fuel System: The fuel capacity is expanded to an 80-litre tank (up from 72L in the Blazer). Crucially, the Thunderbolt’s tank is engineered to be fully inspectable and removable, dramatically simplifying maintenance, cleaning, and pre-flight safety checks.
- Enhanced Climb Performance: Due to optimized rotor aerodynamics and a more efficient fuselage profile, the Thunderbolt boasts a 7 m/s rate of climb (compared to the Blazer’s 5 m/s), offering superior short-field performance and safer altitude gains in hot-and-high conditions.
- Sleeker Storage Integration: While the Blazer utilizes prominent external 20L side pods, the Thunderbolt transitions to a more aerodynamic, integrated 10L + 10L luggage compartment configuration built cleanly into the fuselage profile to maintain low-drag performance.
